Twenty-five years and counting. We will never forget the 2,977 innocent lives lost that day, the thousands who have died since from illnesses linked to toxic dust and air exposure, and the tens of thousands who continue to suffer – both mentally and physically – as a result of the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil. We recall with deep gratitude the brave first responders who showed extraordinary courage and risked their lives to save others, and how our city came together in the face of unspeakable tragedy.
Today is a day of collective remembrance and mourning.
